FIFA World Cup 2022 Qualified Team: Wales
The National Team
Wales made it to their first World Cup in Sweden 1958 where they lost to Pele’s Brazil at the quarter-final stage. That World Cup was the only time all four of the UK nations, Scotland England Northern Ireland and Wales, were featured.

Gareth Bale has won 5 UCL winners medals and scored 39 times for Wales. His freekick beat Ukraine and got them a place in Group B. Wales surprised many when they got to the last four of Euro Cup 2016 and they will have to cause another upset to get out of Group B shared with England, USA and Iran.

More about Wales
Wales officially has two languages: Welsh and English, though many more people speak English in the South and North East. The best time to visit Wales is from April to June. Even during these months, you still need an umbrella.

Wales may be the smallest nation of the United Kingdom, but it has some amazing places to see. Top of my list is Snowdonia Park. This region is surrounded by stunning mountains and lakes. If you have several hours of hiking in you, Climb Mount Snowdon at 1083 meters and you may see all the way to Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Next stop should be Conwy Castle which was built for King Edward I in 1283. From the top of the walls there are amazing views of the sea and mountains.

Head to Cardiff, the capital of Wales and you will find the National Museum of Wales. First things first, it’s free! You get the chance to see collections of zoology, botany archaeology and arts. Wales, although part of the United Kingdom, has its own house where Welsh politicians debate. Senedd was built in 2006 and looks fantastic with its wood ceilings. You can arrange guided tours if you book ahead

Want to be transported back in time? Then you have to check out Beddgelert. This picturesque village has it all from shops pubs, churches and the stunning waterfall called Swallow Falls. You can also lose yourself among the many trails through the forest and around the rivers.

Dining in Wales
Wales Rarebit has no rabbit despite its name, and it is delicious. The secret here is fine ingredients. Melt fine cheddar cheese mix with flour and beer then throw under the grill and you have the world’s best cheese and toast.

If you are partial to some fruit cake, have a piece of Bara Birth. This fruit cake tastes slightly different since they mix ½ cup of cold tea to the batter. It would be criminal not to slaver your piece of heaven with some butter.
Conwy Mussels from the fishing village of the same name are world renowned for their quality. Don’t forget only to eat these molluscs if the month contains the letter “R.” This is some folk wisdom that will ensure you eat the tastiest mussels!
How do you think Wales will do at Qatar 2022?
